2. Scope of application

This privacy policy applies to both the LoveCode app and the lovecode.xyz website. The privacy policy can be accessed at any time on the website and the App.

3. Legal basis of the processing

Article 6 paragraph 1 lit. A) of the GDPR serves as the legal basis for the processing of your personal data as soon as you give us your consent for this processing.

4. Why are personal data collected?

The personal data is collected so that you can use the LoveCode app. The data is required in order to create an account in the app and to enable matching with other users. For this matching it is necessary that you answer 25 questions so that the app can suggest suitable matches to you. We also need your location data in order to find users in your area.

5. What personal information is collected and what is it used for?

When you register (create a user profile) in the app, your personal data is collected. The following list shows you the individual data and the reason (in brackets) why we need these data:

    - First name (displaying the name to other users, contacting them)
    - Date of birth (matching function)
    - E-mail address (authentication and contact)
    - Gender (Matching Function)
    - Searched gender (matching function)
    - Requested age range (matching function)
    - 25 questions about your character or your personal attitude (matching function)
    - Location data/GPS data: Longitude, latitude and country (matching function)
    - Push identification number for push notification (to inform you about news)
    - Matches (who you were matched with)

6. What features of your smartphone does the LoveCode app use?

The app LoveCode uses the location function and push notifications of your mobile phone. The location function is needed to find matching matches (other users) in your area. Unfortunately it is not possible to use the app without the location function. However, your location can always be changed if you are currently somewhere else.

The push notification feature allows you to receive notifications about new messages or matches when the app is not active. You can turn this feature off and on again at any time in your phone's settings. However, if you turn it off, we will not be able to keep you up to date with the latest news.

7. How is your personal data protected?

We only use your data for the LoveCode app and do not pass it on to third parties under any circumstances. Your data will be stored on our servers in Germany (Frankfurt) and thus within the EU. We only use encrypted connections (TLS) for the transmission of your data.

We try to protect our servers and the app as well as the website against attacks and unauthorized access, so that your data can neither be stolen nor manipulated. Should we discover that our services are being attacked, we will take appropriate measures as soon as possible and inform you about the security of your data.

8. How long will personal data be stored?

Your data will be stored as long as you have an account with LoveCode or as long as it is required for the purpose for which it was collected. If we notice a prolonged period of inactivity, we may deactivate or delete your account. If you decide to delete your account (under Settings in the app), all your data stored with us will be deleted.

9. Your rights as a user (revocation, information and deletion)

Within the framework of the GDPR, we grant you the following rights in the processing of your personal data:
